Dr. Amiya Prasad is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and is a Cosmetic Surgeon with subspecialty certification in Oculofacial Surgery (surgery of the eyelids and face). He is one of less than 500 surgeons in the world with this type of background.
Dr. Prasad received his training in Eye and Facial Cosmetic Surgery with top surgeons associated with the University of Texas in Houston and Galveston and the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Prasad is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Prasad’s work has been featured on network television news programs including Channel 4’s Live at 5, The WB11 morning news, Channel 7's Eyewitness News as well as cable news programs like News 12 and several leading magazines and websites.
Dr. Prasad has been practicing in New York for more than 10 years. He teaches future surgeons at several institutions including SUNY Downstate Medical School, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Winthrop University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Prasad has just been appointed the Chief of Oculofacial Sugery at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. He lectures and teaches colleagues regularly about Cosmetic Eyelid and Facial Surgery.
